NETWORK MONITORING SOLUTIONS
Guardian Kiosk Management Module (KMM)
The Guardian Kiosk Management Module or KMM is designed to enhance the Affinity, Diplomat and K15 ranges with highly sophisticated remote monitoring and management capability. Working with PC resident software handshaking, the KMM is able to reboot the CPU automatically to enable recovery from processor faults. It also enables timed start-up/shut-down and remote shutdown.
Operationally, the KMM can monitor the Processor and peripherals and maintain a status log. If it detects a fault, or alert (i.e. paper out, door open, paper jam, etc.) it will pass a status flag to it's PC resident counterpart for action. A key element in maintaining high availability of a network of kiosks is the ability to monitor it's performance and well being; dynamically and remotely.
Monitoring usage statistics enables more effective application structure
and placement of kiosks based on who is accessing what, where and when.
The action could take the form of an audible signal, an alert to a local monitoring
point, and/or a network report to a central monitoring point.
The makeup and target of this communication would essentially be event type dependant and structured to the
requirements of the clients monitoring needs.
