E-Touch Public Computing ULTIMedia

E-Touch, is the leading company in Argentina, in the implementation of Interactive Information Point kiosks. E-Touch was founded in 2006 as a merger between two entrepreneurs, each with their own expertise, Karina Waltenburg and Pablo Spinelli.

They both had deep experience in Advertising Promotion, Marketing, Point-of-Sale, Product Development, Technology and Visual Communication and shared the conviction that there was a huge potential in this type of technology for brands that had to communicate with their clients through a state-of-the-art approach.

After having researched the market thoroughly, they reached the conclusion that nothing had been developed locally and very little on an international scale had been done using an integral approach by applying the high degree of quality that today’s consumers deserve.

This is how E-Touch was born, the first prototypes were developed using an extremely attractive design as well as the first browser Software programs being more than simply user-friendly. Later, E-Touch developed its own proprietary Software for multiple kiosk applications.

We exhibited at the Advertising Show in 2006 and were pleased by the warm welcome we received from world-class brands that led to our first roll-outs. With clients such as BMW, Bosch, CarOne, Philips and the Public Administration, our experience in multiple applications grew quickly. The original international contact also came very soon after that Show and we found ourselves in joint projects with some of the World’s largest Technology firms.

Our projects were both more and more challenging and larger in scope and thus we began to be in contact with the key international players. We realize that we are practically the only ones that are approaching this field from all of the critical angles:

The Public Computing Q-series comprises of kiosk and digital signage equipment with screen-sizes ranging from 26 to 46 Inch in landscape or portrait direction. These retail hardened units are made of durable powder coated steel in any RAL color.

The robust design features include stainless-steel poles and (IR touch) screens with 6mm tempered glass cover. All Q-series of product boast an integrated industrial computer, WIFI and unique Intel 3D graphics card in order to get the best performance out the high definition screens.

Public Computing Q10 Kiosk The Public Computing Q10 Kiosk is the cutting edge digital signage solution with integrated industrial computer. This range of products has been widely applied in digital signage, narrow-casting and information on demand applications. The Q10 Kiosk is the most popular unit in the Q-series and has many installations at retailers, airports and office-buildings. Recent installations include the Polo Ralph Lauren virtual store as well as at large real-estate development project in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Public Computing Q5 Kiosk The Public Computing Q5 series is the right solution for digital signage, narrow-casting and information on demand. Cutting edge digital signage solution with integrated industrial computer. The Q5 High definition unit combines the screen, PC, DVD, Wifi and touch capability into one stand-alone solution. It eliminates the need for expensive (CCTV) wiring through buildings. Current installations include over one-hundred of the 42 Inch version at an airport. The Public Computing X-series Kiosks range from space saving desk-top units to free-standing dual-screen payment kiosks. This series of cost effective kiosks is designed to fit many industry standard kiosk components including Wifi, RFiD, Credit and chipcard readers, cash-acceptors in any currency, A4 and thermal-ticket printers, bar-code scanners and many other components.

Public Computing X5 Kiosk The Public Computing X5 Kiosk has been manufactured for a number of years in great volume and has become the most cost effective freestanding kiosk in its class. Recent design updates include standard 19” screen and a foldable base which allows the unit to be shipped in a standard FedEx flat-pack box. The X5 kiosk is a smart blend of stainless steel, simplicity, elegance, function and aesthetics. Its rugged indoor design allows it to be placed in most public indoor access areas. For certain applications, the 26” portrait touch-screen version has become a popular upgrade. Typically the units are outfitted with a stainless steel vandal resistant keyboard and trackball in any custom layout. The optional extended backdoor allows for the addition of a thermal printer, coin acceptor or some other kiosk component. For stability and cooling optimization, a low powered kiosk PC or small form-factor PC is placed within the locked base of the unit.

Public Computing X6 Kiosk The cutting edge X6 Kiosk represents a breakthrough in kiosk technology. The most complicated kiosk solutions have been developed with the X6 Kiosk. Any thinkable component can be added directly at our high-volume production-line in Taipei and the whole solution is tested. A significant portion of the units are shipped with the optional overhead digital signage screen. In an endeavour to distance itself from its competitors, ULTIMedia bases its strategy on “the function of the object in correlation with the environment”. It would seem that there is only one step from the architecture to the interactive terminals, the step taken by Eric Dumouchel, (Creator of ULTIMedia), a man with a personality bubbling with activity and teeming with ideas. Architect and designer, he has an impressive record of achievements, thanks to his talent, his training (ENSAD and ESAG) and his energy, his creativity, his sense of what is functional and the control of the industrial process. In 1987, he founded his agency as an architect, the ED agency.

With a passion for new technologies and encouraged by an incredible ability to create and generate ideas, he takes an interest in “everything that is in the forefront, especially new computer technologies, everything that stimulates the spirit without ever cutting off ties with reality”. It is therefore perfectly natural that he has used interactive technologies since 1987 to present his architectural projects, together with the hyper-realist 3D virtual animations, which at that time were pioneering tools. Around 1990 Eric Dumouchel found himself entrusted with the development of a variable-geometry mobile unit containing the first interactive touch screens. He devised a ready-made solution for this 12 meter-long mobile unit (80 square meters, spread out), which in a way was his first giant terminal.

Eric Dumouchel makes a point of never separating what is functional from what is aesthetic, but rather of blending both concepts through action, a challenge he met with ULTIMedia, which he created in 1997.
