APPLICATION READY
PhotoGenie can ship with the ePOINT Universal Device Manager preinstalled. The Universal Device
Manager is middleware that connects applications to kiosk peripherals through a simple and consistent Application Programming Interface (API). The API provides a standard command structure for controlling peripherals and devices that have non-standard or varying command
sets and protocols, reducing the development cycle of interactive kiosk applications.
This new standard frees developers to choose peripherals and devices that are the best for the job, not because their command set fits the application. The benefits from device independence extend beyond machine design to maintenance and support, allowing non-application intrusive device upgrades or replacements, and remote device firmware upgrades and testing, while reducing overall onsite engineering costs.
eP1000 Interactive Terminal
The ePOINT eP1000 Retail Kiosk is an interactive touch-screen consumer terminal that provides a flexible hardware solution for self-service retail kiosk applications. Configurable for a number of general and specific retail uses, including digital photo processing, the eP1000 is a proven 'retail-hardened' interactive terminal.
The ePOINT eP1000 interactive terminal is a powerful and versatile kiosk system designed to deliver a reliable and attractive online brand presence. Simply by touching the screen, a wealth of information about your business is immediately available to any customer.
REDUCING COSTS
Kiosks are designed to assist valuable sales staff – not to replace them. But during busy periods, kiosks can help meet peak customer demand without incurring additional staff costs (and without taking breaks or holidays).
INCREASING SALES

SECURITY FEATURES
For additional supports an ensure transactions completed failure. Also infra-red sensor presence activate transactional software.

APPLICATION READY
All ePOINT products are shipped pre-installed with ePOINT Universal Device Manager, our unique device management software. Via a simple application programming interface (API), software developers can easily access the full range of peripherals included with the kiosk, including
device management and error logging. This hardware abstraction layer dramatically reduces the time required to port applications to any ePOINT product.
KIOSK MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
The Remote Device Manager is a server software tool designed to monitor the availability of multiple ePOINT kiosks distributed over a wide area network. The status of each kiosk is reported on a regular basis and sent over the TCP/IP network to a central monitoring server, which collects all reports and displays status information. The software is designed to integrate easily with any client application software running on the ePOINT kiosks.
eP7000 Payment Terminal
The ePOINT eP7000 is a “ruggedised” interactive terminal that defines a complete kiosk hardware payment system. Combined with a suitable software back-end application configuration, it provides an effective way to accept customer payments.
The eP7000 product is flexible for use in many indoor locations. It has been designed in a modular form to allow for hardware customisation dependent on the possible transactions required, whether coins, notes or credit/debit card.
TRANSACTION READY
The eP7000 provides secure handling of cash (coins and notes) and credit/debit cards. Its design provides ease of maintenance and repair, vital to maximise the “uptime” while minimising overall cost of ownership. The terminal incorporates a design that is “disabled access compliant” (to BS8300: 2001), and still retains the necessary high degree of vandal
resistance for unmanned or unsupervised locations.
ROBUST ENCLOSURE DESIGN
This rugged and reliable system is easily capable of "24/7" operation over more than 3 years. It is supplied with high security locks and fixtures, and heavy gauge steel to reduce the possibility of theft to an absolute minimum.
Superior card reader and device peripherals are utilised for a harsher operating environment (in terms of vandal resistance) to prevent damage to expensive system components. A public access printer with loop presenter is incorporated to provide improved reliability and vandal
resistance.
DESIGN STABILITY
The eP7000 design is based on high-reliability embedded system components, with minimum supply
life of 3 years. This permits ePOINT to provide a stable technology platform over a long period, minimising the need to control product variants. This is particularly important given the ever-changing requirements for application software coupled with ongoing system deployment
programmes.

APPLICATION READY
All ePOINT products include, as standard, our unique device management middleware called the
ePOINT Universal Device Manager. This dramatically simplifies the development of applications that utilise the full range of peripherals.
The hardware abstraction layer manages all system peripherals and presents devices as a simple bidirectional Windows socket interface. This simple to use interface leaves developers free to concentrate on the business layer functionality with the knowledge they are building on a secure foundation. Additional ActiveX components are available for bridging to HTML and Java-based applications.

About ULTIMedia:
ULTIMedia designs, manufactures and markets a global offer of interactive terminals
and information screens, and offers a wide range of complementary services from the secured Internet browser to accessories dedicated to interactive technologies and other terminal application software.
It would seem that there is only one step from the architecture to the interactive terminals, the step taken by Eric Dumouchel, (Creator of ULTIMedia), a man with a
personality bubbling with activity and teeming with ideas. Architect and designer, he has an impressive record of achievements, thanks to his talent, his training (ENSAD and ESAG) and his energy, his creativity, his sense of what is functional and the control of the industrial process. In 1987, he founded his agency as an architect, the ED agency.
With a passion for new technologies and encouraged by an incredible ability to create and
generate ideas, he takes an interest in 'everything that is in the forefront, especially
new computer technologies, everything that stimulates the spirit without ever cutting off ties
with reality.' It is therefore perfectly natural that he has used interactive
technologies since 1987 to present his architectural projects, together with the
hyper-realist 3D virtual animations, which at that time were pioneering tools. Around 1990
Eric Dumouchel found himself entrusted with the development of a variable-geometry mobile
unit containing the first interactive touch screens. He devised a ready-made solution for
this 12 meter-long mobile unit (80 square meters, spread out), which in a way was his first
giant terminal.
Eric Dumouchel makes a point of never separating what is functional from what is aesthetic, but rather of blending both concepts through action, a challenge he met with ULTIMedia, which he created in 1997. The Davos week is symbolic in the history of ULTIMedia. Some 100 terminals are arranged in the station for the spectacular brainstorming organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF). This will be the beginning of the establishment of an ever-increasing position worldwide.
