The keyboards are manufactured in a range of materials to suit a variety of applications,
including vandal-resistant stainless steel and wipe-clean fascia and keytops. The stainless
steel version is sealed to IP65, and can include a built-in trackerball. The keytops designed
especially for the stainless steel version, are convex in shape for easy finger-location,
with high-quality, tactile-feel short-travel switches. Full-travel switch variants, with
plastic vandal resistant keytops are also available. Keytops can be laser engraved in any
language, and custom legends are available at no extra cost. The keytops are available in
ABS or stainless steel.

The latest generation of "public access" kiosk keyboards has been introduced by Rafi GB
Limited, of the United Kingdom.
In line with most PC manufacturers’ ability to accept USB peripherals and the growing
adoption of this technology, Rafi GB has re-engineered its rugged kiosk keyboards to give
USB connectivity as well as PS/2.
By simply fitting the appropriate cable (one for USB, two for PS/2) and plugging in to
the system, the keyboard will automatically detect the interface required.
To the kiosk builder this development results in maximum flexibility in both kiosk
and hardware requirements. The keyboard cut-out in the kiosk being able to accept a
standard or full stainless steel device (either USB or PS/2 interface) allows easy
keyboard integration and avoids the need to redesign each new project.
