- Easy to Update
Before, staying up-to-date meant expensive and time-consuming service calls. With the
Planar Digital Media Processor, anyone can update the hardware or firmware - it really is
straightforward and simple.
- Easy to Use
With all the slots on one level and LEDs to guide the user, the Planar Digital Media Processor is incredibly easy and intuitive to use.
- Engineered to Last
The card slots in our Planar Digital Media Processor are designed to last. We use high quality connectors and components to ensure the unit lasts as long as possible - even in busy retail environments. We have also included a pin shroud for the Compact Flash slot - protecting the pins if consumers insert a card incorrectly. All this adds up to reduced service costs and downtime.
- Fast Firmware Upgrades
ePOINT provides the updates you need to make sure consumers can use the very latest storage
devices. What's more, the Planar Digital Media Processor is designed to easily take firmware
updates - locally or remotely.
- Protect Customer Data
The Planar Digital Media Processor does not allow anything to be written back to the customer's card. This keeps data absolutely safe, even if the card is pulled out too early.
- Reduce Service Costs
New card formats mean new units. With the Planar Digital Media Processor, you can specify our unique swap-out sleeve, making it incredibly easy to replace the unit without calling for an engineer. Store staff with an access key can simply unplug the old unit and plug in a replacement. There's no need to worry about power or data cables - everything is taken care of.
This contributes to a reduced cost of ownership, meaning that the Planar Digital Media Processor represents an impressive return on investment.

- Robust, Safe, and Easy to Update
The ePOINT 525T Digital Media Processor is the world’s leading peripheral for flash memory card handling in self-service terminals. Designed for flexibility, user data protection and customer upgradability, the Digital Media Processor provides a single programming interface to flash media, Bluetooth and USB storage devices.

From remote upgrades to logging device problems, it's the natural solution.
Consumer demand means that flash card technology is often out-of-date as soon as it appears. This means that card reader hardware must fight to stay current. After all, if a consumer cannot use their new storage device in a kiosk, the chances are they will never use that kiosk again. Before, staying up-to-date meant expensive and time-consuming service calls. With ePOINT's patented Digital Media Processor architecture and field-replaceable connector modules, maintaining support for new cards could not be simpler.
