KioskCom Self Service Expo New York show Grows 300 Percent!

KioskCom Self Service Expo New York debuted last week and over 1,800 professionals convened to meet with exhibitors showcasing the latest kiosk, digital signage and other customer-facing technologies. Attendance was three times the size of the previous Fall's event.

Tom Weaver, V.P. of Sales & Marketing for KIOSK Information Systems commented: "We measure an event's effectiveness by the number of quality conversations that we have with real potential buyers. The KioskCom Self Service Expo in New York delivered professional quality attendees unlike any other show we have been involved with - and several were prepared with RFP's on-site, which we have never experienced before."

The show also marked its official foray into digital signage. "We decided to include a more focused area on digital signage this year because our attendees wanted it," Lawrence Dvorchik, General Manager of Self Service Expo said. "We conducted a survey of attendees at the April Las Vegas event, and found that not only did the attendees want to see more digital signage, but that they were the purchasing authority there as well."

The success of Self Service Expo New York was the critical mass of pre-qualified attendees. Each registrant went through a rigorous qualification process, designed to allow only those with buying authority to enter, ensuring exhibitors were busy meeting qualified buyers. CEO Joel Davis commented: "We made the difficult decision to deny over 400 sellers entry to our event to allow exhibitors to be free to talk with real buyers. Time is limited and keeping a pure audience has a significant impact for our event and perhaps an entire year's sales performance for our exhibitors. We owe it to them to make sure we are delivering the highest quality, buying audience that is possible."

"The response to the Self Service Expos has been extremely positive", Dvorchik said. "Already, over 75% of those companies exhibiting last week in NY already have committed to participating again in 2008, a full year in advance."
