PRESS RELEASE

A Q & A with Phil Hunter about the success of KioskCom Europe 2006
which recently closed in London!

24 November, 2006 -  We recently spoke with Event Director Phil Hunter on the KioskCom Europe 2006 show held in London, on 8-9 November, 2006. He had many positive things to say about the show and is looking forward to the next show in London on 7-8 November, 2007 at the Olympia Exhibition Centre.

EKN: "So Phil, we have been following developments on the first KioskCom Europe exhibition with a great deal of interest. You said you were going to deliver between 40 and 50 exhibitors and between 500 and 700 visitors. How did you get on?"
Phil: "Well, I'm delighted to say that we delivered 54 exhibitors and 859 visitors plus 178 exhibiting personnel making an overall attendance of 1,037. As you may know, we are auditing the attendance number through the leading media auditing company - ABC."

EKN: "That's a fantastic job. Especially on exhibition attendees where you delivered twice the number you originally forecasted. Tell us a bit about what type of person visited the show?"
Phil: "The thing that surprised us most was the seniority of the visitors. Over 20% were director level and above. Exhibitor feedback confirmed that, in the main, the visitors had specific projects in mind and were genuinely looking for solutions. I know that some exhibiting companies actually did deals during the show."

"The biggest single vertical category for End Users was retail which accounted for 16% of all visitors. This was followed by Manufacturing, Business Services and then, Banking, Finance and Insurance."

EKN: "What was your feedback from the exhibiting companies?"
Phil: "I was overwhelmed with the response. Looking back, I think people were a bit sceptical and maybe had quite low expectations. However, within an hour of the doors opening on the first day, everyone was saying how pleased they were - I got my first contract for the 2007 show by 11.30am on the first day which is a fantastic result. Then, in the evening, we put on a small drinks reception at a local restaurant just to thank the exhibitors who'd supported us."

EKN: "Nice touch, I'm sure they appreciated that. So, how did re-booking for the 2007 show continue?"
Phil: "Well, as you can imagine, the show was busy for the whole 2 days; from opening to closing. So, I'm confident that exhibitors had a productive exhibition. As a result, a staggering 80% of the stand space was re-booked for the 2007 show."

EKN: "So, you've got the first event under your belt. I guess you can relax a little now, right?"
Phil: "Oh, I don't think so. Yes we have had a really successful event but, as you know, this is a very demanding industry. The bar has been raised and it's my job to make sure that the 2007 event is even more successful. I like a challenge and I really like this industry - especially the people. So it's full steam ahead for 2007 - I can't let them down!"

"Can I also say Thank-You to all the exhibitors from this year, 2006, and all our media and industry supporters, . . especially you guys at EKN - it was a good show because of all of you -
so I thank you All very much!"
