PRESS RELEASE

CyberD(UK).com Completes Project for Safety Training Kiosk System!

21 July, 2006 - London, UK -  UK based internet kiosk developers, CyberD(UK).com Ltd, have completed a kiosk and database system for world leaders in aluminium recycling Novelis Alcan. This system has been developed in two parts, a secure browser system displaying a third party ToolBook DHTML presentation incorporating a safety at work quiz and a SQL database system hosted on Microsoft Server 2003.

Novelis required a solution for outdoor kiosks that would display there driver training system, store the test results in a data and print a ticket on completion of the training. In conjunction with this they required remote access to the collected data and kiosk status. To meet this requirement CyberD produced a solution built around their long established secure browser technology and web technology skills.

The kiosk system is a secure browser system with CyberD Standardized Gaming Protocol support allowing the server to send SGP messages over a network connection to print a ticket, suspend operation for maintenance or power off. Tickets are printed using a CustomIT thermal ticket printer with a CyberD driver.

The server system stores data from the kiosks via HTTP and hosts a HTML/CGI interface to the stored data. Administrators can use a standard web browser to access the data, run queries based on user details and dates as well as export the reported data from the SQL server to spreadsheets and Access database files. In addition to these data driven web pages the server also sends emails to service engineers should a kiosk go offline unexpectedly or the printer paper runs low.

This system is a prime example of the CyberD holistic approach to kiosk solutions utilizing both kiosk client technology and server side technology combined with CyberD network security skills to produce solutions that work securely and intuitively.
