PRESS RELEASE
Devlin launches expanded range of vandal resistant Kiosk keyboards!
18 October, 2003 -
Devlin Electronics announce the launch of an additional
range of vandal resistant keyboards for the public access kiosk environment. The KSR products
utilise rubber-mat technology to offer a lower priced extension to the already popular KSM
range of kiosk keyboards. The keyboard comprises stainless-steel keytops operating tactile
feel, conductive, rubber-mat switches. The KSR range comes with choice of integrated pointing
device, trackball or touch-mouse.
KSR Range of Stainless-Steel Kiosk Keyboards
The range of vandal resistant, stainless steel keyboards launched by Devlin Electronics comes
with a GlidePoint touch-mouse, specifically designed for the public access kiosk environment.
The touch-mouse keyboard combines total sealing integrity against dirt and moisture, with very
high wear resistance and reliability. The touch-mouse bezel can be colour-matched to any
custom colour.
|
The keyboard, including pointing device, is sealed against the ingress or dirt and liquids,
which makes them 'wipe clean' and can meet IP65, when mounted in a suitable enclosure.
The keytops are laser marked for longevity and ease of customisation.
|
Devlin also have the capability to customise the language, carrying over 40 different language
variants. The standard interface for both keyboard and trackball is IBM PC AT PS/2 but is
also available as USB.

USB Kiosk Keyboards
Devlin Electronics have developed its range of rugged, public access stainless-steel kiosk
keyboards to give USB connectivity as well as PS/2. With USB interface, the keyboard requires
only a single cable for connection, instead of 2 for PS/2, reducing 'cable clutter'
and allowing other peripherals to be connected at the host PC. A special feature is the
inclusion of a USB hub allowing two downstream USB ports.
With the growing number of PC hardware equipment compatible with USB, Devlin have engineered
their range of kiosks to 'future proof' your kiosk keyboard applications by providing USB
compatible kiosks.
