CyberD Ltd. - ''Going for Gold'' with The Goldsmith's Company, London!

12 June, 2003 -  CyberD(UK).com Ltd has supplied The Goldsmith's Company, London - which includes the London Assay Office (the oldest hallmarking authority in the United Kingdom), estiblished 1300 - a complete interactive exhibition and information solution to promote gold and silver craftsmen and women.

The purpose of the kiosk is to give access to The Goldsmith's Company's new web initiative, Who's Who In Gold and Silver, an online database of leading talents in gold and silver crafts. This solution has been provided through CyberD's leading Point-Of-Information system, Cyt-Lox 2002. The kiosk itself is completely self contained, only two cables are visible from the rear, the mains power - leading to an internal power distribution system - and a Cat5 network cable for connection to the internet or local LAN. By virtue of this self contained nature the unit has proved to be mobile and will be used at the annual New Designers Exhibition, Business Design Centre, Islington, 3-6 July 2003, connectivity at this stand will be acheived using wireless LAN. Intergration of the wireless LAN was possible due to the extensibility of the standard CyberD Kiosk PC.

The proposal for this project was to create an interactive solution that was modern and yet would still provide the ambiance to blend seemlessly with its historic location. In addition to the strict hardware brief, a software solution was required that would be touch screen friendly and safe for use in an unattended situation.
