PRESS RELEASE
DED's Kiosk Printer Offering is Second to None!
10 January, 2003 -
A major Distributor for two of the leading names in Kiosk Printers, well established Star
Micronics and increasingly popular Nippon Primex, DED also offer unrivalled technical
knowledge and design application experience of this rapidly growing area of printer technology.
Star have invested a great deal of time and money developing a versatile range of thermal or
matrix packaged printers, open frame printers and mechanisms with presenter and/or autocutter
options. In other words, total flexibility. Their base products can often be tailored to
suit individual needs and they have managed to successfully integrate a number of their
packaged printers in kiosk environments.
Matrix solutions come in the form of a Matrix printer with multi-copy capability in the shape
of the SP349 or UP389 with Presenter.
DED is more than just another Distributor!
Thermal solutions from Star are as follows:
TUP900: High Speed, Wide Format (112 mm), modular kiosk solution
TUP452Z: Open Frame Thermal Printer with Autocutter
TUP492Z: Open Frame Thermal Printer with Autocutter, Presenter and Document Capture facility.
TSP800: Unique, Wide Format Packaged Printer with Autocutter and wall mount/desk boot option.
TSP700: Packaged Printer with Autocutter and wall mount/desk boot option.
Arguably the most comprehensive range of Kiosk Printers available today can be sourced through Lydd-based Distributor, DED Limited!
The Unique Presenter -
Whether used in a thermal or matrix solution, the Star Presenter is unique and has some very
distinct advantages for the user. Quite literally, the printer prints the receipt and then
"presents" it to the user. And when Star say the Presenter provides jam-free operation, they
mean that it is almost impossible to jam the paper within the printer. The Star system
features a loop, which truly hides the entire receipt until it has been cut by the autocutter.
Impatient fingers cannot pull the receipt out whilst it is in the process of being printed.
If the exit is jammed for any reason, for example by vandalism, then the unique 'clutch'
system holds the receipt until the exit is freed. The receipt is then printed and presented.
Nippon Primex -
The Japanese have always been at the forefront of technology when it comes to miniaturisation.
The Kiosk Printers range from Nippon Primex are no exception and they offer a printer
specification and speed for every purpose imaginable. Printing speeds from 50 mm up to 200 mm
per second; paper widths from 58 mm to 112 mm and paper roll capacities from 43 mm right up to
200 mm in diameter.
The use of materials designed for their surroundings is also paramount. The successful
NP-345 Ticket Printer is well established and fast becoming the flagship in the Nippon Primex
printers kiosk range is the T310 'Kitchen' Printer with its compact chassis and stainless
steel construction - not to mention easy handling, high quality, high speed (200 mm/s) and its
fitted-as-standard Autocutter.
All in all, DED have just the right Kiosk Printer - together with the technical and design
expertise - for your individual application.
