PRESS RELEASE Rafi Kiosk Keyboards solve problems at British Galleries! 23 May, 2002 -
The interactive study centres at the Victoria & Albert museum British Galleries were installed
to provide a learning aid for visitors who range from senior citizens to young children.
Initially each terminal was equipped with a standard keyboard and mouse but it soon became
apparent that this system was unworkable and a more specialised keyboard was required. The
problem was that visitors with no knowledge of computers were right clicking mouse buttons
and getting lost with Windows pop-up messages while highly literate users were using the
range of standard keyboard functions to attempt to hack into the V & A network. Nick Brod, Multimedia Manager at the V & A museum said "The Rafi keyboards have all but eliminated the problems while also satisfying the design criteria of this prestigious space. We would expect to use more of these kiosk keyboards in future installations." For more information on Rafi GB Ltd., please contact:
